"From the moment I picked up my first pastel, it felt like second nature to me. I am fascinated with the way light is represented and I am focusing on capturing it in my paintings. Whether I am working on a portrait, still life, or landscape, I layer color to achieve tones, lights and shadows. I feel that this method helps to give my paintings the realistic quality that characterizes my work." Robin works primarily in pastel and has studied under several local artists. Although she has a passion for portraiture, she also enjoys arranging her still life scenes in a way that gives them a sense of importance. Robin is a member of several organizations, including the Manchester Artists Association where she serves as exhibit chairperson. She is also a member of the Andover and Nashua Artists Association, the Sharon Arts Center in Peterborough New Hampshire and recently became a juried member of the Cambridge Artists Association.
